31.03.2022 Wuppertal
A nice meeting with Mr. Eric Swehla, the new head of Wuppertal's economic development agency.
Wuppertal is one of the most important German partner cities for CIIPA. The first Sino-German Automobile Conference in 2017 was organized there. Also Wuppertal is the hometown of Engels, as well as the origin of many hidden champion companies such as Schmersal Group and Vorwerk.
Eric Swehla studied economics and organizational sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg and was responsible for university development and study organization at the University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management in Essen. From 2003 to 2015, Swehla was responsible for attracting international companies to China and Germany in Shanghai, Wuxi and Beijing.
From 2015 to 2017, Swehla was responsible for the technology and start-up center in Halle in the economic development department. Swehla is also a member of the supervisory board of one of the leading AI companies and chairman of the board of the vaLUE Innovation Cluster for a Smart Value Life e.V. cluster.
Looking forward to a closer and much pragmatic cooperation in the future.
